McTominay, who turns 23 on Sunday, revealed to MUTV that he was chomping at the bit to be involved against Spurs, following a three-game spell on the sidelines.
“I was desperate to be on the pitch - it was disappointing to watch those three games,” he said.
“The atmosphere was brilliant tonight. Some of the skills and tricks in the first half, and in the second half, were absolutely scintillating and it was a pleasure to be a part of it.”
When questioned on how he felt after the game, McTominay revealed he was in fine fettle. ““I try to look after myself as best I can. I trained yesterday for the first time and played today, so I feel good. I'm only 22, so I should be fine.”
United's early intensity was duly rewarded, as Marcus Rashford fired us into the lead after beating Paulo Gazzaniga at his near post, but the Reds were stung shortly before the break, courtesy of a well-taken strike from Dele Alli. However Marcus restored our lead shortly after the interval, winning and scoring a spot-kick which ultimately proved enough to secure the three points.
When asked about Rashford, McTominay reckoned our Man of the Match was unstoppable under the Old Trafford lights.
“He's impossible [to play against] sometimes when you see some of the stuff that he's doing. It's a breath of fresh air to watch a player who is a young kid from Manchester, coming up and doing some of the things that he's doing. He's a pleasure to watch.”
Along with Scott's return, our midfielder was back playing alongside Fred. The duo had started to sew the seeds of a successful partnership prior to his injury, and they appeared to pick up right where they left off against Tottenham.
““He's such a nice guy and we have that connection on the pitch, and it's just a pleasure to play alongside him. We're getting more and more of a connection and I think we can both see that in terms of the way we're using each other on the pitch.””
He added: “We want to keep that partnership going. We want to get partnerships all over the pitch, especially with the forwards. Hopefully we can go to Man City and put in a real performance and after that, see where we're at.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer isn't afraid to shed his baby-faced assassin image in the dressing room and tell his Manchester United players that they've not been good enough.
Ashley Young has revealed that Solskjaer has a "horrible side" that most people don't see, a trait the club captain believes is invaluable as manager of United.
The Norwegian has a reputation as a friendly face to many United fans, but those inside the changing room know differently, according to Young, comparing the steely streak inside him to that of Sir Alex Ferguson .
"A lot of people in the press still see him as the baby-faced assassin. But it was like I said before, when he arrived it was like the boss [Sir Alex Ferguson] had walked back through the door," he said.
"When he gets down the business, it's serious. At times in the dressing room, he's had to lose it, and I think that's right when things aren't going well. You need to be told that.
"He's got a nice side and a horrible side, which I feel you need. A lot is said about managers, but it's down to the players at the end of the day."
