10 Host Cities of the 33rd SEA Games Thailand 2025:
What Sports Will Be Played, and What Are the 3 Demonstration & 1 Value-Added Sports?
The 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 2025) will be hosted by Thailand from 9–20 December 2025, under the theme “Bringing Southeast Asia Together.”
This edition aims to showcase unity, sustainability, and innovation — spreading the spirit of sport across the nation.
Although Bangkok, Chonburi, and Songkhla serve as the main hubs, the Games will be spread across 10 provinces:
Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, Nakhon Pathom, Chonburi, Rayong, Songkhla, Chiang Mai, and Ratchaburi.
️ Bangkok Metropolitan Area
The main cluster, hosting over 30 sports, including:
Athletics, Swimming, Men’s Football, Basketball, 3x3 Basketball, Volleyball, Boxing, Shooting, and Cycling.
The Rajamangala National Stadium will host the opening and closing ceremonies.
️ Nonthaburi
Four sports:
Futsal, Table Tennis, and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).
️ Pathum Thani
Eleven sports including:
Rugby Sevens, Baseball/Softball, Water Polo, Cricket, Badminton, and Gymnastics.
Samut Prakan
Seven sports such as:
Kickboxing, Equestrian Polo, Diving, and Pencak Silat.
Nakhon Pathom
Two traditional indoor sports:
Sepak Takraw and Chinlone.
️ Chonburi & Rayong
Over fifteen sports including:
Women’s Football, Weightlifting, Mountain Biking, Teqball, Golf, Handball, Billiards & Snooker, Canoeing, and Triathlon.
⚓ Songkhla
Southern host city featuring nine sports:
Men’s Football (group stage), Chess, Judo, Wushu, Karate, and Muay Thai.
Chiang Mai
Hosts Men’s Football group-stage matches and selected indoor sports.
Ratchaburi
Hosts Skeet Shooting events.
3 Demonstration Sports & 1 Value-Added Sport
To highlight innovation and entertainment, the SEA Games 2025 introduces:
1 Flying Disc
* Ultimate: team-based, fast-paced frisbee game.
* Disc Golf: precision disc-throwing into a metal basket.
2 Air Sports
Paragliding and Powered Paragliding: showcasing flight control, precision, and beauty.
3 Tug of War
A traditional strength sport symbolizing teamwork and unity.
And the Value-Added Sport:
MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) — blending techniques from Muay Thai, Judo, Wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, representing modern combat sports.
